The Purpose of the Role
As the Senior Product manager your primary purpose is to define a product's strategy, vision, and roadmap, ensuring it meets user needs, aligns with business goals, and is successfully developed and launched throughout its lifecycle by coordinating cross-functional teams like retail, engineering, design, marketing, and sales while gathering and analysing user feedback to guide product development decisions.
Core Responsibilities
- Ownership of Product description documents, creation and updating
- Identifying customer needs
- Defining the key features, specifications and requirements of the products
- Staying ahead/competing with the competition
- Marketing collateral including battle cards for partners/retail
- CPE requirements and procurement & future proofing (i.e. white box CPE, virtual functionality)
- Product onboarding, including:-
- Processes/procedures (can they consume etc)
- Operational readiness
- Cross functional teams are aligned
- Systems
- Testing
- Over the top services
- Managing network to network interfaces
- Defining product pricing
- Creating Business cases in line with product roadmap
- Developing product roadmaps through insights from market research competition, and evaluation
- Defining the key features, specifications and requirements of the products
- Establishing strategies for wholesale & retail product pricing and positioning
- Managing the budgets of multi-disciplinary teams involved with product development
- Performing profit analysis and forecasting to develop or improve product marketing strategies
- Creating project timeline and implementation schedules across all functional area’s
- Ensuring a successful product launch across all key area’s, especially sales and operations.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in product management or related role in a telecoms industry
- Technical expertise within telecoms to support product descriptions
- Knowledge of every aspect of the product development life cycle
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong experience in a dynamic product management role
- Proven success in overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle
- High effectiveness in managing cross-functional teams
- Ability to create product development and marketing strategies
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- In-depth knowledge about the industry and product’s users
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills
- Experience in delivering finely tuned product marketing strategies
- Ability to analyse complex data to identify market trends and customers’ behaviour
Qualifications
- Proven success as a product developer in a nonmanagerial role
- Demonstrable knowledge of SEM (search engine marketing) and online advertising
- Degree level
- Project management qualifications
- Marketing experience
